General

Groups and clubs are not restricted to participants on any protected basis, including sex or gender. All individuals are encouraged to participate.

Description

This organization will be for students, faculty, and staff to engage in acts of kindness to one another and recognize and celebrate those who show acts of kindness. The students of the Artie’s Be Nice Club (ABNC) at Scottsdale Community College, are determined to promote kindness toward others and provide a safe place for students when they need encouragement and community.

Collegiate DECA at SCC’s Mission Statement

To give students the opportunity to develop professional and leadership skills for future business careers by developing relationships with business organizations, participating in fund-raising and community service activities, and entering Collegiate DECA competitions at the state and national level.

Open to all students:

  • Collegiate DECA holds monthly General Meetings, where we host professional speakers, hold networking activities, and practice competitive events.
  • Collegiate DECA participates in one community service activity each semester, such as volunteering at Feed My Starving Children and The Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease.
  • Collegiate DECA participates in one fund raising activity each semester.
  • Collegiate DECA participates in at least one activity with all other Arizona Collegiate DECA clubs.

Open to members only:

  • Collegiate DECA takes monthly industry tours of large employers in our community, such as Amazon Warehouse, KPMG, Go Daddy, Vanguard, Talking Stick Arena, Westin Kierland Resort and PwC.
  • Collegiate DECA attends one state conference each semester, where they attend workshops, listen to speakers, and compete in academic competitions.

Meetings are generally held every other week.

Description

CSL is SCC’s form of a student government. They exist to preserve student rights, serve student needs, provide student funding for student activities and clubs, and serve as the official voice of the student body. It also provides opportunities for growth in leadership skills and self-awareness for its members.

For the 23-24 school year, CSL will be meeting in SC-105 from 12:00-1:30 pm every Thursday. There is also a virtual option for participation. Contact the advisor for more details.

ISA @ SCC is supported by SCC's American Indian Program which provides comprehensive academic and personal support that promotes opportunities for a successful and enhanced college experience for the American Indian student.

The Latino Student Association exists to unify Scottsdale Community College students interested in Latino culture and issues. It exists to promote and support academic excellence and the pride that accompanies the knowledge of self and culture. The purpose of this club shall be to ally the Queer Community and Straight communities at SCC as well as celebrate each and every Queer identity amongst SCC students. Our mission is to:

  • Provide a safe place for Queer students to meet, support, and discuss with each other issues related to gender and sexuality, and to educate themselves and the broader school community about gender and sexuality issues.
  • Serve as a bridge between the Queer communities of Scottsdale Community College.
  • Provide a constructive forum where members can express themselves without fear of retaliation, or without binding claim to gender identity or sexual orientation.
  • Work together to increase understanding and acceptance of Queer individuals within society.

This organization is the honor society for the two-year college. Membership is extended to students who have completed 12 credits hours in 100-level or higher coursework and maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA. The four guiding hallmarks are scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.

To be a vehicle to actively involve all SCC students in Wildlife Education, Botany, Ecology, Conservation, Preservation, Restoration, and Biodiversity of Arizona; to facilitate student learning about SCC’s efforts to conserve and restore biodiversity of native plants, wildlife, and ecosystems by becoming active in community projects, wildlife education and research; to educate the public about the vital role we all play in being stewards of wildlife and ecosystems; and to give students a greater understanding and appreciation of the interdependent relationships, diversity, and beauty of our home, the natural wildlife habitats of Arizona, especially our Sonoran Desert.

The Asian/Pacific Islanders Club at SCC is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students. Our mission is to promote cultural awareness, advocate for the needs and interests of AAPI students, and engage actively with both the campus and the broader community. Through campus-wide events, educational initiatives, and community involvement, we strive to celebrate the rich diversity of AAPI cultures, enhance the visibility of AAPI issues, and provide a supportive environment where every member feels valued and empowered.

Calling all pre-med, pre-PT, pre-pharm, pre-dental, pre-PA, etc...! The Pre-Allied Health Club is for students who are interested in the pre-health fields such as pre-med, pre-dental, pre-physical therapy, etc., and overall any topics related to health. The idea of the club is to meet with like-minded individuals and professionals in the field so students can work towards their goals of getting into their preferred school of choice while making friends and networking along the way.

The purpose of the SCCRC Shall be to foster broad student interest in math and science through robotics and develop soft skills in communication and effective teamwork. This shall include developing expertise in the design/construction/programming/operation of mobile robots and using that expertise to a) complete selected robotic events and b) mentor youth organizations interested in robotics.
