Music Performance
Have you ever envisioned yourself attending music school and learning how to soar as a musician, or how to perfect your craft and grow as a performer? Our Music Performance program will help you hone your skills while preparing you to transfer to a four-year institution by meeting selective admission criteria for programs, such as the Bachelor of Music — where you’ll get the chance to audition. Areas of emphasis include choral, instrumental, guitar, and popular music performance.
The program’s instructors will teach you how to critically analyze music to understand how music composition has changed over time, according to historical, cultural, and stylistic contexts. They will also teach you how to perform with appropriate tone quality, pitch, rhythm, expression, and articulation. Finally, you’ll learn how to use self-evaluation, critical feedback, and aural diagnosis to improve your performance in both solo and group settings.
If you’ve dreamed of music school or performing as a professional, consider becoming part of the Music Performance program today.
Students at any Maricopa Community College may need to complete courses at more than one of our colleges.
