Real Estate: Prelicense

This award is not eligible for Financial Aid

The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Real Estate: Prelicense introduces students to the real estate profession. This program is designed to prepare students to meet the requirements to take the Arizona State Real Estate Salesperson's Exam. Emphasis will be placed on license laws, real and personal property, financing, purchasing, selling, renting, legal descriptions, rights and interests in property, ownership, contracts, real estate terminology and economics, investing in real estate, foreclosure, land use, and evaluation.

This program is designed to meet education requirements for licensure or certification in the State of Arizona. Granting licensure and certification is the sole responsibility of the state board or approval agency. This program is only offered and available to students located in the State of Arizona. The Maricopa County Community College District and colleges define student location within Administrative Regulation 2.2.3(7).

This is a Fast Track Certificate, which can be completed in two semesters or less.

Course Sequence by Term

The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:

  • Students should meet with an academic advisor to develop an individual education plan that meets their academic and career goals. Use the Degree Progress Report Tool in your Student Center to manage your plan.
  • The course sequence is laid out by suggested term and may be affected when students enter the program at different times of the year.
  • Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
  • Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College. Courses include FYE101 and FYE103. Course offerings will vary by college. See an academic, program, or faculty advisor for details.
