What You'll Learn

This pathway map will help you gain the expertise needed to:

  1. Describe website technology and current interface theory (UI, UX).
  2. Analyze the different terminology for creative production as it relates to cross functional design and web essentials.
  3. Apply best practices using business applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software) to the cross functional design and web essential spaces.
  4. Explore system security, privacy, and ethical challenges in cross functional design and web essential spaces.
  5. Apply best practices in web accessibility.
  6. Design advertisements and campaigns across digital, mobile and social channels, including video.
  7. Produce graphics for web publications and social media channels, using type and design elements in a marketing strategy for diverse audiences.
  8. Design and produce a multi-page web site utilizing HTML, CSS code validators, appropriate design, color, and art.

Course Sequence by Term

The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:

  • Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
  • Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College.
