If you are interested in a career in healthcare, or you are already working in healthcare but would like to try something different, you may be the perfect candidate for Scottsdale Community College’s new Accelerated Pharmacy Technology training program.
Pharmacy Technician jobs are expected to increase 19% between 2023 and 2033 in Maricopa County, compared to 11% projected increase nationwide. The median annual earnings for these jobs in Arizona are $45,260, which is above the national median earnings of $37,794 annually. (All data is according to O*Net).
The Certificate of Completion prepares you for a role working in a pharmacy practice in retail, hospital, and institutional settings. You may process and prepare medications, dispense medications, interact with patients and insurance companies, and learn inventory and quality control practices.
You can complete the program in as little as one semester!
- All classes meet the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certifications
- Program is 9 credits and will prepare you to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)
- Total cost to complete the program is approximately $1,500 (plus course materials & health and safety requirements)
- Program includes hands-on learning through a 200-hour externship (apply what you learn in class, in real-world settings!)

- Classes begin January 11, 2025; however, health and safety requirements must be completed by December 16, 2024!
