Scottsdale Community College (SCC) hosts the annual Alli Ortega Empty Bowls fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 4, in the Indigenous Cultural Center (ICC).
The yearly fundraiser is a collaboration among Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD), Scottsdale Arts, The City of Scottsdale, Scottsdale Community College, Vista del Camino Food Bank and other community partners.
This event supports Empty Bowls and the memory of Alli Ortega.
Empty Bowls is a national movement of artists dedicated to supporting food-related charitable organizations in their respective communities. Alli Ortega was an inspirational youth leader at the Paiute Community Center and loyal volunteer of the Hungry Bowls project.
Local students, community members and artisans have designed and crafted ceramic bowls which can be purchased for a donation of $15, and a pasta meal is included.
All proceeds will be donated to Scottsdale Community Partners for the benefit of the Vista del Camino Community Center and Food Bank.
