Break out the neon and hairspray because Scottsdale Community College is bringing the iconic '80s back with their newest musical sensation, The Wedding Singer! Based on the beloved Adam Sandler movie, this high-energy production will transport audiences to a time when hair was big, collars were up, and love was in the air.
Set in 1985, The Wedding Singer follows Robbie Hart, New Jersey's most charming wedding performer, whose life takes an unexpected turn when his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Heartbroken and bitter, Robbie's once joyful performances become hilariously disastrous. Enter Julia, an endearing waitress who captures Robbie's heart. But Julia's engaged to a high-powered Wall Street exec, and Robbie must put on the show of his life to win her over before it's too late.
“This musical romp through the 80s is stuffed full of fun, laughs, heartache, and a toe-tapping soundtrack – it’s guaranteed to bring you back to a simpler time!” says director Joe Flowers. “It’s not just big hair either. This show has a big heart. Join us and feel the power of love!”
Featuring a synthtastic score of the decade's sounds, this feel-good musical delivers laughs, love, and the irresistible nostalgia of the 1980s. Just say "yes" to this romantic, comedic celebration!
