SCC’s Grad Bash and Commencement Ceremony to Recognize 2025 Graduates

Grad Bash – May 1, 2025

All students are invited to attend SCC’s special Grad Bash 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., May 1, at Two Waters Circle.

Come mingle with your fellow grads, faculty, and alumni at this awesome event. There will be a live DJ and great music, SCC swag giveaways, a cap decorating station, delicious snacks, and photo opportunities with your favorite mascot, Artie the Artichoke!

We invite students, friends, and family to share their graduation experiences and messages of congratulations by posting on social media during this event. Graduating students are encouraged to wear their cap and gown.

Representatives from Student Affairs will be available to answer all of your questions about the Commencement ceremony.

SCC Commencement Ceremony – May 8, 2025

The formal 2025 Commencement proceedings to recognize all graduating students will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community near Scottsdale. The event will be live-streamed so that all family, friends, and loved ones will have the opportunity to attend. Admission is free, and no tickets are required.

Apply for Graduation by March 3, 2025

The deadline to apply for participation in Commencement is April 1, 2025 (you must apply for graduation first, and then check your Maricopa email account for your invitation to participate and complete the registration process for Commencement). More information can be found on the Graduation and Commencement pages. Be sure to order your Cap & Gown by April 1, 2025 – instructions will be provided in the email.

Important information for all attendees (graduates, please share this section with your guests!):

Location & Parking:

  • Graduates and guests can access free parking via the main entrance at 7555 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
  • Many visitors will need to park in the overflow parking lot, which is a short walk on uneven surfaces to the stadium. Please plan accordingly.
  • While we make every effort to secure ample parking for those with disabilities, these spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and tend to fill up fast.
  • There will also be drop-off locations near the main entrance to the stadium.

Graduate Check-In:

  • Takes place between 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. Graduates will proceed to the Pepsi Patio, located on the rooftop. Graduates should arrive no later than 6:30 p.m.

Personal Items:

  • Graduates, please leave all personal items with your guests (as there’s no place to store items during the ceremony).

Attire:

  • Please come dressed in your SCC GOLD cap & gown. The SCC gold cap & gown is required in order to participate in the ceremony. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking across a grass field during the ceremony, as well as going up and down stairs.

Guests:

  • Please plan to arrive and be in your seats by 6:30 p.m. to ensure you don’t miss any part of the ceremony!

Important – The following items are not allowed at Commencement:

  • Outside food or drink (note, concession stands will be open)
  • Air horns
  • Confetti and other materials that will leave a mess or be disruptive
  • Guns and firearms
