History

Program Overview

Gain a deeper and more informed perspective of the world we live in and the cultures that inhabit it. Our History program provides the first two years of a four-year curriculum, preparing students for continued education leading to a variety of careers in post-secondary teaching, law, library and archival studies, and museum studies.

College Description
History examines humanity’s past through the written word and various material evidence. Using these resources, historians study past times' people, events, processes, and conditions. Reading and interpreting the past exposes the dynamic between cause and effect, which gives us insight not just into the “why” and “how” of past events but also allows us to better understand the present world in which we live, as well as give us a sense as to what the future might hold for us.

Students at any Maricopa Community College may need to complete courses at more than one of our colleges.
