Nutrition and Dietetics
If you’re passionate about food, nutrition, and health, our program can prepare you for a career focused on improving the well-being and healthy lifestyles of others. If you wish to continue your education and specialize in nutrition, this program provides the first two years of a four-year university curriculum.
Students at any Maricopa Community College may need to complete courses at more than one of our colleges.
SCC Program Description
The Nutrition and Dietetics programs at Scottsdale Community College are designed to prepare students for jobs in the fields of exercise science, fitness, and nutrition.
The Nutrition for Fitness & Wellness Certificate is designed for personal trainers who want to expand their nutrition knowledge and individuals (non-PT) who want a basic nutrition certificate.
Students can complement their Personal Training Specialist Certificate and AAS degree in Exercise Science with a Nutrition for Fitness & Wellness Certificate. This is a great combination of “stackable” certificates and degrees for those in the fields of exercise science and fitness.
SCC’s Nutrition and Dietetics program provides students with learning experiences that create a solid foundation of nutrition knowledge that can be applied to various individuals. Our instructors all have a minimum of a Master's degree in Nutrition and other nutrition credentials.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
Students who choose SCC's Nutrition and Dietetics programs will have many unique opportunities to develop their professional potential and leadership skills, including:
