Ignite Your Career - Resources and Opportunities
SCC Career Services provides alumni with resources, opportunities, and free workshops that support successful transition to industry, community, and various professional paths. Check out Career Services for guides and samples to assist with the preparation of resumes, interviews, cover letters, and more! These resources will enable you to create professional profiles and materials that align with your chosen profession.
Time to update that resume? As an alum, you have access to resume resources, tips for interviewing, and more. Employers want your resume to highlight the skills you developed in class and through experiential learning (internships, special projects, apprenticeships, etc.). Community Borrower – Want to check out a book? Become a community borrower!
To establish an account, start by creating a MEID from Admissions & Records in the Student Services building (Room 136) and then come to the library to establish your library account. Community Borrowers must be 18 or older and have an AZ photo ID with a Maricopa County address.
You can check out 10 items at a time (3 non-book items) and place up to 5 holds. Books check out for 28 days, one renewal, unless another borrower is waiting for the item.
All Community Borrower accounts are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and may be renewed upon request.

Databases – Want to do some research? Did you know you can use the SCC library databases? They are not available remotely but you can use them on campus in the library through the public access computer. Read more about searching the Community Databases.
The public access computer can be used for up to one hour a day. There is no printing attached to these computers but you can email articles.
Speakers – Scottsdale Community College Library and Libraries Speakers Consortium have partnered to present a series of free virtual talks featuring bestselling and award-winning authors from around the world. The featured writers and thought leaders will cover a wide range of fiction and nonfiction genres. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the author’s work in more detail. Alumni are welcome to join us for these virtual speakers. You also have access to past speakers through our webpage.
Scottsdale Community College Library Webinars and Online Events
SCC Student Newspaper Archive – In partnership with the Scottsdale Public Library, you have direct access to archived editions of the Scottsdale Community College newspapers from 1971 to 2012 through Scottsdale Public Library Heritage Connection. The newspaper was published by the students of Scottsdale Community College during the school year, featuring news and stories regarding the events at Scottsdale Community College and the surrounding community, as well as national and global topics. The pursuit of education is a lifelong endeavor. Students ages 65 and older who are residents of Maricopa County can take advantage of a tuition discount for credit classes at all 10 Maricopa Community Colleges campuses.
