Education

Prepare for a rewarding career in education. Our hands-on program will empower you with in-depth knowledge of human development, teaching and learning theories, instructional strategies, and inclusive educational practices in addition to real-world classroom experience.

Education courses are offered for students who plan to enter the teaching profession. These courses are designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year university to complete a Bachelor's degree in education or wish to work as a paraprofessional in a classroom.

Students at any Maricopa Community College may need to complete courses at more than one of our colleges.

Course Format / Textbooks

Classes are offered in various formats: in-person, online, hybrid, day, evening, full-time, and part-time. Most courses use low-cost textbooks or no-cost materials your instructors provide. General education courses may have textbooks that cost more.

Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification

This program is designed for students with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any discipline who want to become certified teachers in grades K through 8.
